Keto Easter Bread Recipe

If you loved our recent keto bread recipe then this Italian Keto Easter bread recipe will be a hit with your family Easter weekend. To keep things simple we will be using braided bread molds, similar to challah, while working with almond flour. This traditional Italian Easter bread recipe features a decadent icing made using our Powdered BochaSweet.

This isn’t your typical Italian Easter bread that places dyed Easter eggs into the braids of the dough prior to baking in the oven. What we will do instead is cook the bread in the molds first. Next, we will cut a hole in the center to add in the Easter eggs. The texture of the batter is soft unlike a firm dough that is traditionally made using wheat flour.

This recipe is a festive way to celebrate Easter with the whole family and have fun decorating the colorful eggs.

Italian Keto Easter Bread

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Baking Time: 30 minutes
  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Serves: 4 Easter bread loaves (12 servings)

Ingredients:

Easter Bread

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 cups whey protein
  • 1/2 cup BochaSweet
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon psyllium husk
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water

BochaSweet Icing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Mix together all dry ingredients.
  2. Add melted butter and warm water. Mix together using a spatula or whisk.
  3. Transfer to silicone molds and spread batter until 3/4 full. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Prepare icing: Add Powdered BochaSweet, heavy cream, and melted butter into a mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth consistency.
  5. Remove bread from oven and allow to cool. Use cookie scoop to cut holes into the center of the four loaves. Place the Easter eggs into the center.
  6. Add sugar-free sprinkles if you like and enjoy! Happy Easter!
